Lewis Hamilton managed to leave behind the disappointment of retiremnent in Australia to lead the race from start to finish. The Brit finished the race with a lead of 17 seconds over his team-mate Nico Rosberg who managed to jump to second place at the start and withstand attacks from both Red Bulls and thus maintain the leadership of the drivers standings.

Daniel Ricciardo had a very eventful race and, despite standing behind Vettel, was eventually forced to retire when his front wing got damaged due to a track outing. Due to a mistake in one of the trips to the pits, the Australian driver also received a 10-places penalty on the starting grid of the next race.
