The 500 SEC AMG was the highest selling car

Auction company Art Curial sold a collection of cars owned by Princes Rainier and Albert of Monaco that brought in €1,177,967 for 38 cars.

The collection included cars originally purchased by Prince Rainier many of them from the 1920s and 30s. Most of Prince Albert's cars came from late 60s, 70s and 80s.

The highest-selling car in the auction was a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC500 SECMercedes-Benz 500 SECGermany, 1980 > 19851 photo
AMG that sold for €117,600. The car was purchased new by Prince Rainier and was his personal car. It was bought from a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Monaco and was shipped to AMG for modifications. The interior is covered in blue leather, which was Rainier's favorite color. The car has 8,408km on it. It was estimated to sell for between €15,000 and €25,000.

It has a 3.7-liter, four-cylinder engine that is split into two blocks but produces 20hp. It was estimated to sell for between €20,000 and €30,000.

So a good sale all in all, as most cars seem to have sold for more than the estimates.
