BMW M2 Being Considered for 2016

It would use a twin-turbocharged version of the M235i engine

is taking things even farther with plans to add an M2 that will take some of the new technology from the M4M4BMW M4Germany, 2013 > present.

The M2 will use a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.0-liter inline-six engine already found in the M235i. It will be enough to boost power by 58hp over the M235i to about 380hp. It will also take the Active M Differential and Adaptive M Suspension from the M4 and offer them at least as options.

The M2 is expected to be ready for 2016 and will retail for somewhat less than the M4 so it can keep its distance.

Using the 2 Series as the basis for the car also gets around the thorny issue of the previous 1 M Coupe1 Series M CoupéBMW 1 Series M CoupéGermany, 2011 > present20 photos
