BMW Turns V12 LMR into Puzzle at Its Museum

BMW is trying something novel at its museum in Munich. It has invited puzzle master CUS to create a puzzle on its Le Mans winning V12 LMR.

CUS has decorated 16 spots on the outside of the LMR with symbols, letters, images, pointers, abbreviations and numbers. There is some relationship among the different sets that forms a sentence about the V12 LMR.

CUS is the organizer of the the Großes Rätselrennen, or big puzzle competition, which is considered Germany's hardest puzzle. He writes the crossword puzzle for the Süddeutsche Zeitung magazine and Switzerland's most difficult puzzle in Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

The car is placed in the museum foyer so anyone can see it without paying admission to the museum. Attempts at the solution must be submitted by April 30, and four of the correct answers will be randomly chosen. The grand prize is a day at the Nürburgring in a M3 with the BMW M Experience. BMW M Power Insider program.

In theory, anyone can enter. BMW will be posting images of the puzzle at http://www.bmw-museum.com/mysterycar.
