does not go on sale until November 16, and BMW is already adding the top of the line BMW X5 M50d M Performance variant. While it is not the full M version, it still gives buyers a tri-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel with 376hp (381ps) and 546lb-ft of torque (740Nm) with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. It is also showing the more luxurious Individual edition.
Despite having so much power, the tri-turbo diesel is EU6 emissions compliant with BluePerformance, which collects nitrous oxide in the catalytic converter and subjects it to secondary combustion.
The X5 M50d comes standard with an M-tuned adaptive suspension with dynamic dampers and air suspension on the rear axle. Buyers can add a more advanced Dynamic suspension with roll stabilization and selectable performance modes. It rides standard on 19in double-spoke wheels.
The car takes 5.3 seconds to reach 100km/h with fuel economy of 6.7l/100km and 177g/km of CO2 emissions.
The new BMW X5 M50d comes as standard with Adaptive M suspension including Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension at the rear axle, as well as Electric Power Steering. The optional Dynamic adaptive suspension package comprises Dynamic Performance Control and Dynamic Drive active roll stabilization, while the exterior features standard 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design fitted with mixed tires. BMW has not announced pricing for it yet.
It is also adding the Individual edition of the X5 that adds a wider array of interior and exterior options, including exclusive paint colors, 20in wheels and a higher quality of leather for the interior. The Individual options will be available in December.
