to Europe yet, despite it being on sale in the US for nearly a year, because it is reducing production capacity in Europe. At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ford is launching a new luxury sub-brand called Vignale, and it is introducing the sub-brand with a special version of the Mondeo. For now, Vignale will be exclusive to Europe, and the cars will go on sale in 2015.
“Vignale will offer the highest expression of the Ford brand in Europe from a product and from an ownership experience perspective,” said Stephen Odell, Ford’s president of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The Mondeo Vignale Concept offers higher quality materials, unique body elements and new technologies that are not available on the conventional Mondeo. It is being shown both as a four-door sedan and wagon, but the details are the same. Both ride on 20in wheels unique to the model, chrome door handles, chrome mirror caps, a mesh grill, unique front bumper, new fog light design and exclusive “Nocciola” paint color.
Inside, the car has quilted leather trim, chrome moldings, leather armrests and exclusive seats with soft-touch leather. The same leather is carried to the instrument panel, center console, doors and armrest. It also gets deeper carpet for the floor mats.
The interior technology is also updated with MyFord Touch with WiFi, front and rear park assist, rear view camera and adaptive LED headlights.
The Vignale models will be sold at selected dealerships in Europe and will offer luxury details like collection and delivery of the car for service and invitations to exclusive events.
“The Ford Vignale premium services will meet the needs of the customer for whom time is the ultimate luxury – and they would be made to feel special from the moment they walk in the door,” said Gaetano Thorel, vice president of marketing at Ford of Europe.
