has just sold its 1000th cars, and Lamborghini is giving the car its first upgrades. While still a rumor from the Swedish edition of Auto, Motor und Sport, it appears that the Aventador is getting cylinder deactivation and stop/start to improve fuel economy. It will also get a revised suspension, new wheels and an updated interior.

It is possible that the start/stop system could use small super capacitors like those used in the Toyota TS030TS030 HYBRIDToyota TS030 HYBRIDJapan, 2012 > present5 photos

. The system is smaller and lighter than conventional batteries. Super capacitors can discharge their power quickly and do not lose the amount of energy that they can hold over time like batteries.

The cylinder deactivation system can reportedly drop down to running on six cylinders when cruising. Both of these technologies will decrease fuel economy by about 7%
