A source from Mercedes speaking to Autocar said, “The front is a lot more aggressive, there’s added structure to the flanks with a prominent drop line, a more rounded turret line and the rear overhang is significantly shorter.”
The S-Class sedan is scheduled to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The coupe will come at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. A convertible version will come later that year at the Paris Motor Show. There will be two other wheelbases for the next S-Class- a long wheelbase and limousine - that will round out the model variants. The top limousine trim will be branded the Pullman and in 2014. The new S-Class is said to have a more stylish design than the previous generation. Mercedes wanted to have a car that caught buyers from Maybach and traditional S-Class buyers. All of the versions and wheelbases will carry a similar design but each will be unique to its model. The coupe will be more aerodynamic and sporty than the sedan for example.
