Mitsubishi is introducing the newest generation of Outlander SUV at the Geneva Motor Show, and it is promising that the Outlander will be the first Mitsubishi available with its PX-MIEV technology.
The new Outlander is 4.655m long with high flanks, higher beltline. The car has a small grill with chrome trim. Inside the car has soft touch finishes and wood trim.
It will be available with either a 2.0l petrol engine with 150ps or 2.2l diesel with 150ps. Optionally, It will have an available six-speed automatic, stop/go technology, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and HID headlamps.
PX-MIEV is Mitsubishi's new hybrid technology, and it will be introduced on the Outlander later on as a plug-in hybrid. The car will offer three driving modes as a pure electric vehicle with electric motors front and rear; its engine can be used to charge the batteries; or it can be used in parallel in addition to the electric motors. Mitsubishi claims it will be able to cover 50km on its electric charge. The system can switch among all of the modes as needed.
