Mitsubishi Showing Two New Cars at Tokyo

Mitsubishi will have 12 cars at its Tokyo Motor Show press conference, but only two of them will be world premieres. 

Mitsubishi will have a new generation of the Mirage at Tokyo. The Mirage is powered by a three-cylinder, one liter engine with a CVT transmission that uses 3.3l/100km. The Mirage will definitely be on sale in Asian markets- it goes on sale first in Thailand in March 2012. But Mitsubishi did not state if the car will be for sale in Europe or North America. 

The other car that Mitsubishi will have is just a concept right now. The Concept PX-MievII is a mid-size plug-in SUV. The powertrain is a development of the electric motor used in the i-Miev and a 2.0 liter four cylinder. Mitsubishi claims that this concept is capable of using just 1.6l/100km with a 800km range. The vehicle can also be forced into electric mode at the push of a button.
