The style of the car appears less blunt than its predecessor. The headlights climb farther up the fenders, and there appears to be slightly more curvature to the roof.
The images come from the car's Japanese brochure. They also indicate that the car has grown slightly. It is 35mm longer overall, 25mm longer in wheelbase and 15mm wider. Cargo space grows to 488l from 450l in the current generation.
The Japanese brochure says that the car will be available with the 2.0-liter boxer engine with 146hp from the new Impreza or a 276hp turbocharged version of the same engine. Subaru has a tendency to offer different engines in different regions, though. Europe will probably get a diesel option, and North America might get the 2.5-liter 173hp version from the Legacy/Outback.
We also expect a new generation WRX to debut at some point in 2013.
