The car was introduced to the Renault model range in 2010 but sales have not been as high as originally hoped. It was available with either a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder or naturally aspirated 1.6-liter. The Wind was built on the same production line as the Twingo in Slovenia. The Twingo will remain in production.

Ghosn has a history of giving models short production runs in Europe. He brought the Nissan CubeCube Gen.3Nissan Cube Gen.3Japan, 2009 > present7 versions
