The new small crossover will be built in Spain at the same factory that currently builds the Modus. Renault says that it will be similar to the Juke, but it is not clear if the new car will use the same chassis or engines as the Juke. 

The market for small crossovers in Europe is growing while the market for MPVs has remained basically stagnant. 

Renault sold 48,302 Moduses in Europe last year, which is down 4% from the year before. It was the third best selling car in its class behind the Opel MerivaMeriva Gen.2Opel Meriva Gen.2Germany, 2010 > present48 versions
