Renault Sells 23 electric cars to Château de Versailles Gardens

has made a deal with Château de Versailles to exclusively use its electric vehicles. The deal comes on the 400th anniversary of the birth of André Le Nôtre who created the palace’s 43km gardens.

The gardeners at the Château de Versailles have 350,000 trees and 300,000 flowers to take car of, and they wanted vehicles that would not bother the 12 million annual visitors. Electric vehicles seemed like the natural solution.

The Château de Versailles has purchased 23 Renault electric vehicles, including three ZoesRenault ZoeFrance, 2012 > present7 photos

. It also built a special Twizy carriage that is decorated like the carriages owned by the French royals

About 30 charging stations have been installed around the gardens to charge the vehicles.
