Renault Twingo R.S. Gets New Front End and Lower Fuel Consumption

Renault is revamping the Twingo R.S. for 2012 with its new four light front end and a slightly more efficient engine.

The new 2012 Twingo has a front end with extremely large fog lights and Formula 1-inspired blade front spoiler. The rear end has a lip spoiler, diffuser and aerodynamic extensions.

The engine remains the same 1.6 liter engine with 133hp and 160Nm, but Renault retuned it slightly with a 3.2% improvement in emissions to 150g/km of CO2 and a 3% drop in fuel economy to 6.5l/100km.

There are a few option packages available on the Twingo R.S. First, there is a Design Pack that adds gunmetal mirror housings, lip spoiler and chrome details around the fog lights. The other package is the Gordini package that adds white stripes, Gordini rear spoiler, grey-stitched dashboard, automatic climate control, 17in wheels and Gordini badges.

Among the other options are the stiffened Cup chassis, sunroof and a variety of wheels.

The Twingo R.S will be on sale in March in Europe.
