Subaru Unveils WRX STI for Racing in Nürburgring 24 Hours

will not officially unveil the look of the next generation WRX STISubaru WRX STIJapan, 2014 > present until January 13 at the North American International Auto Show, but it has given away the look of the racing version a few days early.

Subaru is prepping a dedicated version of the WRX STI to take on the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring from June 19 to 22. The racing version will be based on the production WRX STI, but Subaru will not discuss its precise specifications at the moment.

Subaru’s same team from last year will campaign the WRX STI in the Nüburgring 24 Hours with Hideharu Tatsumi as team manager and Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki as drivers. Two more European drivers will be named later.

STI has campaigned factory-supported cars in for the last seven consecutive years and has scored three consecutive wins in the SP3T class.

Subaru will also continue to campaign the BRZSubaru BRZ Gen.1Japan, 2011 > present12 versions
