*Updated* Honda Reveals More Details on Fourth Gen Euro CR-V

*Update: At the Paris Motor Show, Honda announced the UK pricing for the new CR-V. Sales begin in October. On the road prices start at £21,395 for the entry level 2.0-liter i-VTEC CR-V with a manual transmission and two-wheel drive. The most expensive model is the 2.2-liter DTEC diesel with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission for £32,650.

There are five trim levels: S, SE, SR, and EX. Diesel models cost roughly £2,000 more than their petrol counterparts given the same trim level. 

The entry level S comes with a 5in information display, stop/start, dual zone climate control, cruise control, 17in wheels and USB stereo. SE adds a leather steering wheel and gearshift, rear sensing windshield wipers, automatic headlights, dimming rearview mirror, front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, fog lights and folding door mirrors. SR adds Alcantara to the interior, heated front seats, DAB radio, HID headlights, headlight washers and 18in wheels. EX adds full leather interior, power tailgate, electric driver seat, panoramic sunroof and satellite navigation.

, but it has more interior space. European buyers get an electrically opening rear hatch, LED running lights and LED taillights. 

Inside, Honda specifically selected higher quality materials for the European market. It also added more sound deadening for Europe to make the interior quieter. 

“The high quality finish on the top of the fascia was inspired by the marble-like pattern you find on Japanese Kobe beef. On the decorative strip that flows across the fascia we used a special film that creates a 3D effect. I am really proud of our attention to detail in every aspect of this vehicle," said the car's interior designer Takehiro Ishibashi. 

The new CR-V comes with two engines in Europe - a 2.0-liter i-VTEC and 2.2-liter DTEC. The DTEC has 155ps and 192Nm of torque, which is 5ps more and 2Nm more. CO2 emissions for the diesel are down from 195g/km to 176g/km. The i-VTEC has the same 150ps but emissions are down to 170g/km of CO2. Honda says that both engines are 10% more efficient than the previous generation. 

Honda also tuned the CR-V's suspension for European roads. The damper rates are increased 10% all-round. Bending rigidity is up 7% and torsional rigidity up 9%. The electric power steering has been tuned to give more feedback.

Honda has not announced a price for the CR-V in Europe yet.
