, aka "Batmobile", at this year's Concours d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The German brand has brought the historical model to the twenty-first century through the concept BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage3.0 CSL HommageBMW 3.0 CSL HommageGermany, 2015 > 2015.

There is no intention to produce this unique recreation of the classic car from the 70's, however the concept should give some indication as to a possible future for M models. There are intentions within the BMW M division to create more extreme and lighter vehicles in order to compete with the Black Series from AMGAMGAMGGermany, 1966 > present17 models

The first model to be offered with this new approach should be the M4 GTS, which is being prepared for presentation in August at Pebble Beach. The arrival on the market should take place in the summer of 2016.

In terms of dimensions, the concept is slightly larger than the M6M6BMW M6Germany, 2012 > present12 photos
. It is 4997mm long, 2018mm wide and 1302mm high, with a wheelbase of 3190mm. Besides mentioning that it is a rear-wheel drive vehicle and that it is equipped with a straight six-cylinder 3.0 liters engine combined with an electric motor that assists the acceleration, BMW did not disclose more technical details about the 3.0 CSL Hommage.

The use of carbonfibre-reinforced plastic, as in the i and M models, it was one of the options for the development of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage. The vehicle was entirely constructed with use of lightweight materials.

The front with a radical design highlights the concept look that includes large air intakes and also a large fixed rear wing, a roof spoiler, a front splitter and large exhaust outlets.

In profile there is a clear link to the 3.0 CSL, with a roof line that does not flow to the rear of the vehicle. The yellow color is also a tribute to the iconic 3.0 CSL, since it was the first color that it was painted in.

The interior is made almost exclusively of carbonfibre-reinforced plastic, except for some wood on the dashboard. Apart from the structural, the use of wood is also a reference to the interior of the original model.

The 3.0 CSL Hommage is the third BMW Homage model in recent years. In 2008 the brand presented the M1 Hommage and in 2011 the 328 Hommage celebrated the 75th anniversary of the 328. These two concepts were also unveiled at Villa d'Este.
