A German man has built an absolutely massive Lego model of a Lamborghini Countach LP500SLamborghini Countach LP500SItaly, 1982 > present2 photos
. The car contains 14,000 pieces and is 896mm long and 432mm wide. The car appeared on the Eurobricks Lego forum and was built by a man named Georg.
Georg built the car in Lego Digital Designer, which is a program that allows people to design a project on a computer first and create instructions. It took Georg from 2007 to 2010 to design the car in the computer. He says that towards the end of the project, it took an hour for his computer to load the model, and it took over a day for the computer to create the building plan for the project when he was done.
According to Georg, a lot of the time was taken up collecting the pieces necessary for the project. It then took him 2 weeks to build it.
The finished model weighs 30kg (66lbs).
The images show the completed model with a 1:18 Kyosho model next to it to show scale. With those dimensions, the car is roughly built to 1:5 scale. Technically, the car is 21.6% the size of the actual car.
This is quite an achievement, and you have to applaud Georg for working on this project since 2007. The car looks fantastic. Georg built separate pop-up headlights to simulate the car with the headlights up.
