"With the Concept GLA 45 AMG, we are setting a stake firmly in the ground of the strongly growing market segment of compact SUVs. Our customers – a young target group who set great store by styling, dynamism and independence – can now start looking forward to a dynamic high-performance car,” said Tobias Moers, Chairman of AMG.

, and because the GLA shares a platform with them, it is relatively easy to fit the engine into the GLA. Mercedes says that the GLA45 AMG would get to 100km/h in less than four seconds and come standard with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
The concept wears forged AMG 21in tires in matte black with a red rim and AMG red brake calipers. It also has a larger front splitter in gloss black with larger air intakes and twin-blade radiator grill. The top gets black roof rails, and there is a rear spoiler. The rear has an added diffuser and twin rectangular tailpipes. AMG wrapped the car in gray and red foil on the hood, sides, C-pillars and rear end.
Neither Mercedes nor AMG have given any hint when the GLA AMG will go on sale, but it is certain that it will eventually.
