Peugeot 508 RXH diesel electric hybrid

Peugeot will unveil its new 508 RXH at September’s Frankfurt International Motor Show. The new car will use Peugeot’s HYbrid4 system and will be released for sale in spring 2012.

The HYbrid4 system endows the 508 RXH with 200 bhp and 450 Nm linked to a four wheel drive system. It achieves 70.6 mpg and 109 g/Km from its 2.0 l diesel engine, partly due to its ability to offer a full electric mode.

Peugeot have made the 508 RXH distinctive with LED daytime running lights which Peugeot claim look like 3 vertical Lions claws.

The 508 RXH will also have an extensive list of standard equipment. It comes standard with Peugeot’s open and go system which offers keyless entry and a start/stop system. Electric front seats, head up display, 18” wheels, panoramic glass sunroof, tinted acoustic windows and Peugeot’s latest satellite navigation system complete the list.

This new car will aim to build on the launch of the 3008 HYbrid 4, pushing Peugeot to the forefront of hybrid technology.
