The Renault Laguna Monaco GP Limited edition is set to hit the French market in May after its official presentation at last month’s Geneva Motor Show. The special edition will be featuring at the Coupé-Cabriolet & SUV Motor Show in Paris. The limited edition version celebrates the long-standing partnership that Renault and the Automobile Club de Monaco have created along the years.
The fluid lines of the Laguna Coupé have been enhanced by the sporty styling brought by the Monaco GP edition with the black roof, black exterior mirror housings and 'black shadow' wheels, contrasting with the pearlescent white finish.
The performance in the Renault Laguna Coupé Monaco is secured by the 4Control chassis with four-wheel steering which is standard equipment, as well as its range of engines.
The Limited Monaco GP Edition will be available with three diesel engines and one petrol engine, fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox or with an automatic transmission.
The dCi 150 (110kW) is the most affordable and economical. Matted with the six-speed manual gearbox it delivers a combined cycle fuel consumption of 5.7 litres/100km, which represents 149 g/km of CO2 emissions.
The dCi 180 (131 kW) is a sportier, more powerful and torquier engine. It produces a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 2000 rpm. Nevertheless it has a fuel consumption of 6.2 litres/100 km, equivalent to 163 g/km of CO2 emissions.
At the top of the range we find the 3.0 V6 dCi 235 that is fitted with a –speed automatic transmission. This version has a peak power of 235 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. Although it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds the fuel consumption doesn’t exceed the 7.2 litres/100 km (189g of CO2/km).
Finally a petrol engine is also available. The 240-horsepower (175kW) 3.5 V6 petrol engine produces a maximum torque of 330 Nm at 4.400 rpm. Thanks to the six-speed automatic transmission it can travel 1000 metres from a standing still position in 27.6 seconds. In terms of efficiency it consumes 9.9 litres/100km (230g of CO2/km).
With prices starting at 38.000 Euros the Renault Laguna Coupé Monaco GP will be available at Renault dealers in June, with orders starting in May.
