Rosberg returns to victories in Baku

German dominated the race from start to finish and increased his lead in the championship

dominated the race from start to finish and increased the gap to Hamilton in the championship standings to 24 points. In the first ever grand prix to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Sebastian Vettel and Sergio Perez completed the podium alongside Rosberg.

. The Mexican managed to overtake Kimi Raikkonen on the last lap, but either way this place would always be his as the Finn was given a five-second penalty for crossing the line at the pit lane entrance.
 
Hamilton made a good recovery up to fifth place, having started from 10th after the accident in qualifying. The British driver couldn't do better due to electrical problems in his Mercedes. Despite successive attempts the restrictions of radio contact with the technical team only allowed the Brit to solve his car's problems near the end of the race which made it impossible to climb up more in the standings.

. Both drivers managed to overtake Nico Hulkenberg in the final laps to take seventh and eighth places respectively. The Red Bull drivers took advantage of the fact that they were riding on new tires after a two-stop strategy to overcome the German who only made one stop.
 
Felipe Massa managed to score for the seventh time this season by finishing in tenth place.
