with around 1,500hp from the car's quad-turbo W16 engine. The current timeline for the car is that it will launch next year for a price that could be as high as $5 million. 

“We are looking at several options. The reality is that we are not under time pressure because we are confident of selling out the full Veyron production run regardless.

“Only after that can we see if there is time and appetite for such a program. It would be expensive and time-consuming, so we must be sure it is worth it," said an unnamed Bugatti source to Autocar.

The work on the car is said to include reductions in weight and an increase in power enough to boost the top speed to 280mph (451km/h), which is 12mph better than the current Veyron Super SportBugatti Veyron Super SportGermany, 2010 > present7 photos

. A previously rumored hybrid system has been dropped in favor of simply increasing the turbos’ boost and perhaps increasing the engine's displacement to get more power. 

The Veyron has become almost the old man of the supercar market. It has been on sale for nearly a decade. Bugatti's follow-up the GalibierBugatti 16C GalibierFrance, 2015 > 2000 sport sedan has been shown multiple times but still has not been confirmed for production.
