Alfa Romeo brings back Giulia

Model will compete with premium models such as the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4

, the President of Alfa Romeo and Maserati said the Giulia as the first chapter of a new Alfa.

The design of the new Giulia follows the tradition of the fluid lines from Alfa Romeo. The brand bet on a look without not very structured and with soft lines, unlike what has been done by its competitors. The design director of Alfa Romeo said that although focusing on form and function, the new Giulia is nonetheless an attractive object.

With a 50/50 weight distribution, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia includes a torque vectoring system and an active splitter that helps manage downforce at high speeds. The Italian brand promises the most direct steering in the market without the intromission of intrusive electronic systems. The rear-wheel drive model wil also be available with all-wheel drive in many markets.

Thanks to the use of materials such as carbon fiber, aluminum composites and plastic, Alfa Romeo managed to give the new Giulia a power-to-weight ratio of 3 kg/hp, so the top-end version Giulia Quadrifoglio VerdeGiulia Quadrifoglio VerdeAlfa Romeo Giulia Quadrif...Italy, 2016 > present should weigh around 1500kg.

Alfa Romeo revealed only one of the engines that will be part of the range of Giulia and that will equip the Quadrifoglio Verde version. This engine is the 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 developed by Ferrari and has an output of 510hp. Thanks to this engine Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde can reach 100km/h in 3.9 seconds.
