Renault Will Power Caterham for the Next Three Seasons

The new engines make more power and are more efficient than the current engines

from 2014 to 2016. Next year’s F1 engines are 1.6-liter V6 turbocharged engines with two forms of energy recovery. Caterham has been using Renault engines since 2011.

The new two-system hybrid in F1 uses the head of the exhaust gases and regenerative braking to create energy for the car. When combined with the turbocharged engine, power will actually increase over the current V8s, but the engines will use 35% less fuel.

Caterham and Renault have a close relationship. The two companies have formed a joint venture to bring back the AlpineAlpineAlpineFrance, 1955 > 199414 models

“Over the past three years we have seen Caterham mature, with impressive new facilities and a solid technical structure. The new technical regulations provide a big challenge, but with change comes opportunity and next year is a prime chance for the team to secure the next targets in its ongoing plans,” said Renault Sport F1 President Jean-Michel Jalinier.
