Subaru has brought to the Los Angeles Auto Show its Impreza Design Concept, a vehicle that is a preview of the carmaker’s new ‘Confidence in Motion’ design and brand strategy.
The work done by designers on the sporty four-door coupe is a blending of two main ideas: ‘dynamic flow’ and ‘confident stance’. But still it incorporates Subaru’s core engineering values of dynamic performance through permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, safety, enjoyment and quality.
Powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated Boxer engine combined with a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the Impreza Design Concept is a combination that represents Subaru's next-generation of powertrain.
The hexagonal grille and wing-motif located between the hawk-eye-style headlights gives a clearly recognizable Subaru look to the front fascia of the Impreza Design Concept. The fin-shaped fog lamps, which mirror the wing motif, are a glimpse of the new design expression from Subaru. Just like the 2011 WRX STI, the car’s low-and-wide stance has the objective to offer security and safety. On the meantime, the prominent wheel arches emphasize the vehicle’s stance.
For the Impreza Design Concept Subaru designers opted for more simple and clean lines, putting aside the more dramatic forms. From the side it features a sleek, continuous line from the A-pillar, along the roof and through the C-pillar. The design offers both a roomy cabin and an excellent aerodynamic performance.
